LHA in the USA

At home in Louisiana, LHA has partnered with local organizations including, Tulane University, Tulane Medical School, Loyola University, LSU Medical School, Centenary College, Ochsner Medical Center, the Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (LMHPCO), Clear Water Sanctuary, plus other local, national and international groups. We work locally with some organizations, while others send groups to India each year to volunteer their time and skills, while learning directly from practioners of ancient wisdom traditions and cultures of the Himalayas. Together, we host Tibetan scholars, organize cultural events, raise funds and collect resources for service Projects in India.

LHA also supports local projects at home in Louisiana – organizing community meals and gardens, helping neighbors, and supporting projects to build community and/or help the needy. LHA maintains community centers in both New Orleans and Lafayette to provide space for Buddhist lectures, seminars, films, mindfulness training, meditation, yoga, Dharma recovery meetings, music and more. The New Orleans Center is located in the Bayou St John area just off the Lafitte Greenway. The Lafayette LHA Center is located downtown Lafayette near the main library. For more info about activities at either center Email lha.neworleans@lhanola.com.

LHA Community Centers and Fundraising Events

Some events are hosted solely by LHA, others in collaboration with other organizations, and still others are organized and hosted by separate organizations or individuals. We are grateful to those who value LHA’s work and mission enough to help with our events and/or raise funds to support LHA projects. The LHA Community Centers are also offered for weddings, receptions, memorial services, celebrations, festivals and more. Email lha.neworleans@lhanola.com to volunteer for an event, organize a benefit and/or to receive more info about ongoing and upcoming activities.
